Design has always been a priority for Vivo across all its series, but the company especially emphasizes this with the V series. The V40 Pro stands out as the thinnest phone with a 5,500mAh battery, measuring just 7.58mm in thickness. It’s also among the lightest phones with a 5,500mAh battery, weighing only 192 grams.
The front and back glass panels of the device are elegantly curved at the edges, and the rounded frame enhances the comfortable in-hand feel, avoiding any sharp or bulky sensations. The Ganges Blue variant we tested features a glossy back that offers a secure grip, though the wavy pattern wasn't particularly appealing to me. For a more refined and understated appearance, the Titanium Grey variant might be a better choice, offering a sleek and sophisticated look.
The Vivo V40 Pro's display sees a significant improvement in peak brightness, but it remains largely similar to its predecessor. It features a 6.78-inch FHD+ (2800 x 1260) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The peak brightness has been enhanced to 4500 nits, up from 2800 nits, ensuring the screen is more than bright enough for outdoor use and for enjoying HDR content on platforms like Netflix. Overall, it’s a visually appealing display with vibrant colors and wide viewing angles.
Like the V30 Pro, the V40 Pro is equipped with a layer of Schott Alpha Glass for screen protection. The bezels are incredibly slim, contributing to an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 93 percent, which is likely the highest in this category. In summary, the V40 Pro provides a tall and expansive display ideal for content consumption, outstanding brightness and viewing angles in outdoor settings, and a lightweight yet durable build that feels great in hand.
